Contains detailed information on methodologies, standards, trends and applications in the critical data center domain

R&M has released its comprehensive 2014 Data Center handbook to assist planners and operators of data centers. Available free of cost as a downloadable e-book, the 170-page handbook contains detailed and use-oriented answers to all questions pertaining to the infrastructure and operation of a data center thus helping enterprises achieve optimum data center layout, cabling architectures, energy efficiency and security. It also serves as a reference work on relevant standards, technical terms, trends, applications and compliance issues.

“A secure, reliable data center which runs efficiently is now a competitive advantage to an enterprise in any industry vertical,” said Jean-Pierre Labry, Executive Vice-President of R&M Middle East, Turkey and Africa. “High quality products alone will not suffice to achieve trouble-free operation. Nor is it enough to replace existing components with higher capacity ones. Well-structured and future-oriented planning is the most crucial prerequisite for the construction, modernization or expansion of data centers. As a specialist with years of experience in the field, R&M is capable of prescribing ways for customers to achieve such data center design. This has been our motivation behind the developing and distributing the data center handbook.”

“Every data center has a different basic structure, which is sometimes not in conformance with standards,” said Thomas Wellinger, Market Manager Data Centers at R&M. “That is why an individually coordinated selection of all relevant parameters is so vital in planning. This approach is the only way to achieve an efficient and reliable “nerve center” that is economically sustainable. Along with its own needs, companies increasingly have to keep legal influences and security standards in mind.”
