Skyline Communications brought its DataMiner Inspire event to Dubai. Managed by GEC Media Group, the event showcased the DataMiner platform’s distinctive DevOps and collaboration capabilities.

The DataMiner Inspire tour was opened by Antoine Delcourt, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the UAE, who said as we stand at the intersection of innovation, and human existence, it’s imperative to explore the various ways in which technology is reshaping our society. “The rapid advancement of technology has given rise to the digital revolution penetrating every facet of society. The transformative power of technology is huge, ushering in an era of innovation.”

The Ambassador further elaborated that the UAE’s leadership has laid out an ambitious roadmap for the future, placing technology at the core of every initiative. “There is a vision to create an ecosystem that fosters the growth of technology companies and startups. Today, the UAE stands as one of the largest investors in AI globally.”

Ben Vandenberghe, CEO of Skyline Communications, set the stage for the event. He stated that digital transformation is not just about technology but requires a fundamental change in aligning organizational goals and objectives. He emphasized the importance of empowering employees, engaging with customers, optimizing resources, transforming products, and embracing innovation in the digital landscape. Ben also discussed the challenges and opportunities of digital transformation, stressing the importance of adopting a composable architecture, cultural shift, and collaboration between engineering and operations teams to ensure successful initiatives.

Following this, there were panel discussions featuring industry experts. Glenn D’Haene, VP of Sales Operations at Skyline Communications, moderated the panel on ‘The Pursuit of Faster, Cheaper, and Better in the Digital Age’.

It included industry leaders such as Aditya Kaushik, ICT Director of ZMI Holdings; Dr. Jassim Al Awadhi, an independent consultant; Gigi Mathew Thomas, Group Head of IT and Digital Transformation at Ittihad International Investment; and Youssef Fawaz, General Manager of Al Rostamani Communications. The panelists delved into a wide range of topics, including technological transformation, AI, automation, and cost optimization.

The second panel explored the best practices for harmonizing ICT and media. Moderated by Hasan Sayed Hassan, Managing Director of Master Media, this session featured industry thought leaders, including Dr. Naser Refaat, CTO of Rotana Media Group; Peter Van Dam, COO of SPL Media House; Yassine Bihi, Teleport Director at Es’hailSat; and Eyad Al Dwaik, Director of Engineering at Integral.

Other speakers at the event included Daniel Boldt, Head of Software Development at Meinberg; Thomas Gunkel, Market Director Broadcast at Skyline Communications; and Pramod Gupta, Sales Director at Skyline Communications.
