Toshiba flexes Enterprise Muscles at Gartner Symposium

The opportunity was just apt for Toshiba to showcase the Nimble Storage’s Adaptive Flash storage among the CIOs.

From TVs and ACs to PCs, notebooks, portable storage and MFPs—Toshiba has been making its presence felt in the consumer and end user computing space very ardently, which the company will love to continue to do for next many years. But as the same time when market – both consumer and enterprise – is moving towards embracing data centre centric approach, Toshiba found it to be right to make a transition to offer some of the innovative products and solutions in the space of enterprise computing and storage space. And Toshiba found nothing better than Gartner Symposium 2015, Dubai could be a catalyst to showcase their solutions.

“Nowadays, enterprises want more than just PCs and laptops…what they need is solutions. We are partnering with a number of companies like Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, etc. and providing cutting edge technologies to the enterprises.” says Binu Thomas, Head of Products and Services at Toshiba Gulf. “People believe that we are just ‘PCs and Notebooks’ company. This is not true. We are very well into the enterprises storage space for which we have collaborated with Nimble Storage.”
Toshiba partners up with Nimble Storage, a world-leading provider of flash-optimised data storage solutions based in California. As the distributor of Nimble Storage in the Middle East, Toshiba is launching the Adaptive Flash platform, the latest in hybrid storage innovation, in the current Gartner Symposium/ITXpo 2015 in Dubai.

Using hybrid storage architecture, Nimble Storage’s Adaptive Flash platform is engineered to address the industry’s most pressing storage issues by delivering better performance and capacity at a reasonable price; providing integrated protection with rapid backup and recovery; and reining in storage complexity.

The platform combines flash-optimised architecture with InfoSight, a cloud-based management service that delivers predictive support and operational simplicity through deep data analytics. Through Cache Accelerated Sequential Layout (CASL), a CPU-driven storage solution that is non-dependent on spindle count, the platform combines the unique properties of flash and disk to provide high performance and capacity. “Nimble storage is marketed by Toshiba in Middle East Bertrand Lemarechal Senior Systems Engineer, Nimble Storage. “Not only that Toshiba has also implemented Nimble storage at their own place,” he added.

Bertrand also highlighted CASL architecture of the solutions, which is a combination of flash and disk to deliver high performance and capacity – all within a small footprint. CASL and InfoSight form the foundation of the Adaptive Flash platform, which allows for the dynamic and intelligent deployment of storage resources to meet the growing demands of business-critical applications.
