The security market has evolved over the years and continues to grow, what is your perception of the regional security landscape and what are the potential opportunities that you are looking into?
Virtualization will play a critical role in any organization, that’s interested in expanding and optimizing their financial costs. Having the security technologies that were specifically designed to tackle both performance and protection challenges, while keeping costs at their minimum, gives Bitdefender a competitive edge against its competition.
The current cybersecurity landscape requires that organizations need to have greater visibility into their infrastructure, by enabling them to centrally manage all endpoints – may they be physical or virtual. A unified security management console that’s able to bring together all threat information and allow organizations to both manage and take informed decisions when enforcing security is a giant leap in security technology – one that Bitdefender has already made.
There is no one size fits all solution for any breach, but how is Bitdefender ensuring minimal risk and maximum security?
Our solutions for the enterprise space are designed to offer a layered approach to security. The GravityZone solution provides security at the mail server level, which filters threats such as ransomware or maliciously-crafted PDF files and documents directly at the server level. The endpoint security solution installed locally provides Antimalware with proactive heuristic detection, Firewall, and Device Control.
Can you please tell us in depth about GravityZone Technology?
The GravityZone architecture is comprised of three security services tailored for distinct operational areas in your organization. These services are: Security for Virtualized Environments, Security for Endpoints, and Security for Mobile Devices. Organizations have the flexibility to deploy any or all of the three security services, depending on whether they have a mobility program or not or if their infrastructure is partially virtualized.
For endpoints, GravityZone provides a unified installer that is environment-aware and that configures itself accordingly. This feature reduces the time required to manage and maintain security operations and further streamlines security management workflows.
For virtualized environments, GravityZone SVE provides antimalware protection using virtual appliances (Security Server) functioning as centralized points of antimalware intelligence, without a traditional security agent installed in each VM.
What makes the GravityZone architecture top the performance and protection bar. How does enable business to be more agile?
GravityZone is a platform that unifies our security solutions for businesses, enterprises and data centers. Unlike traditional solutions which require intense efforts to protect larger number of endpoints, GravityZone can be scaled with ease thanks to its virtual container architecture. The GravityZone scanning appliance is delivered in a virtual container that can be imported in all major virtualization environments. This extremely comprehensive security architecture can be configured, customized and maintained from a single management console, regardless of whether the customer is virtual, physical or hybrid infrastructures.
How are you empowering the virtual and cloud environments with your solutions? What is your latest innovation in that area?
Our latest innovation in enterprise cyber-security is a complete game-changer. Known as HVMI (Hypervisor-based memory introspection), this technology allows Bitdefender to run at the hypervisor level in a server environment and transparently secure all the other virtual machines deployed on the server without having to rely on local agents.
What would be Bitdefender’s focus in the upcoming Mobile Show 2016?
Being a ‘mobile first’ company is no longer a differentiator, but rather an essential strategy for any business who wants to survive in this digital age. Bitdefender’s focus for Mobile Show Middle East 2016 will be to put our technology in the security decision makers’ hands, and help them to secure their companies, and help the Managed Services Providers to provide the required security to their customers in this mobility age.
