Veeam celebrates World Availability Day in recognition of the fact that for modern businesses and service providers, it’s not only about having backups of data anymore, it’s about being Available.

Mr. Gregg Petersen, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa at Veeam Software says, “The modern enterprise needs to be anchored with key technologies provided by virtualization, modern storage systems and cloud technologies in order to be fully transformative. Legacy backup solutions are not geared these technology trends. What is critical is that ‘Availability’ is at the forefront of the digital transformation strategy, so that when applications and workloads are being moved across different infrastructures, there’s a backup and disaster recovery plan in place to ensure that downtime is not an issue.”

Any type of interruptions to these services can be frustrating, but in a business context, it can mean the difference between productivity and stagnation which can erode trust from customers and partners alike. Considering the critical role that data plays in our lives, Veeam has declared and celebrates World Availability Day on March 30 each year.
