As you may be aware, a major ransomware attack has been reported across the globe and striking many organizations in Europe and the US. The source of “Petya” is not yet known and the virus spreads rapidly through networks that use Microsoft Windows and demands a ransom in Bitcoin currency.

Commenting on this ransomware attack Mohammed Shahzad, CIO, RDK Group says – “I think petya/NotPetya attack looks like to be disruption rather than ransom. Those businesses missed to update the patches and had not taken preventive measures might be more prone to latest malware. I suggest to create culture of cyber security and this must be every employee responsibility.”
