Gartner recently named you a visionary DRaaS provider. What is your ‘vision’ as an organization?
CloudHPT was conceptualized in 2012, a time when the market was ready for an optimal shift and there was a huge demand for moving from CAPEX to OPEX models. CloudHPT is the first and only Cisco-powered cloud in the UAE which utilizes the latest Cisco UCS technology. Being built on high-performance technology (HPT), CloudHPT uses some of the most modern innovations in the industry including VMware and Cisco’s application-centric infrastructure (ACI), to deliver the most advanced cloud platform in the Middle East region.

How sure were you that the region would be receptive to such a technology, then?
‘Cloud’ as we all know, penetrated the region, when organizations were in an attempt to cut down their infrastructure cost. The region had just risen above the recession and OPEX models were the need of the hour. We understood this shift and CloudHPT was our ace. ‘Fear’ of losing one’s data and doubt in ownership of data were the predominant challenges that we faced. We brought forth solutions that curbed the appetite for cost and designed opex models for the enterprises that were gearing up for digital transformation.
Tell us about your DRaaS offerings and any recent success story.
We offer our customers a fully managed, compliant DR plan. We simplify the migrations of critical data and applications by offering the customers a ‘zero touch’ model, wherein the customers need not worry about any workloads. One of our major cases has been the Abu Dhabi listed investment company, Waha capital. The IT uptime was extremely critical for the company given the nature of the business. There was a need to bridge the gaps in the current DR solution and leverage it to the cloud. BIOS provided the organization with CloudHPT’s Auto Recovery Services to protect business critical VM’s and physical machines.
Tell us in brief about your concept of Hybridization?
With our Hybrid CloudHPT, we aim to provide organizations with the much needed flexibility to strike balance between private and public cloud and drive agility and control.
