In an up and close interview with Tarik Taman, General Manager, IMEA at Infor we tried to decode how and why Infor claims to stand as a catalyst for the next generation business applications.

According to Tarik Taman, General Manager, IMEA at Infor, digital transformation is all about keeping the keeping the customers and their business agile. The vendor has been evolving with its applications and changing industry dynamics with applications that Infor claims to be ‘beautiful’. Tarik says, “Look at our interface and you will definitely agree that unlike the traditional messy interface of ERPs, our applications have a graphic beauty to it. We have outsourced the work to a designing agency that has 100+ people working everyday to create that aura of difference in our interface.”

2017 has been a great year for Infor according to Tarek. With some strong cases in the UAE, KSA, India etc the vendor is all set to bring in some major disruptions at the customer end. “It has been a great year for us so far. We have engaged with some great customers and the market is just right for us. Presently we are figuring out the right formula for the public sector. We are totally in the game and we believe that when people would go into the next generation of ERP platform, it will be a great time for us to have a large share in the market.”

Talking of a recent customer win, Zahid Group, a privately held organization headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, has achieved a key milestone in its digital transformation strategy. After extensive planning and preparation, EJAR, a Zahid Group company, has successfully launched the first phase of Infor’s innovative M3 solution. The management of Zahid Group created a business transformation roadmap in 2012, starting with the implementation of Infor’s M3 software to standardize key business functions across the Group’s companies in order to build a more effective workforce and deliver enhanced customer acquisition and retention. Zahid Group’s goal of achieving operational excellence aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to diversify the Kingdom’s economic interests in the private sector.

“In such an unpredictable business environment, growing organizations need solutions that work, and work well, while still being useful, flexible, and powerful. As a business evolves, it needs a wider range of capabilities, without adding unnecessary maintenance, deployment time, and cost – which is exactly what Infor delivers with its power cloud-based applications and strategic partnerships,” says Tarik.

Infor claims that their applications are ‘Built for the cloud’. Justifying the claim, Tarik says, “The most competitive advantage of our solutions is that customer have the option to put the data in their data center or on the cloud, and those who prefer to go on the cloud have the choice of scalability.”

Recently, Infor also launched the Coleman, an enterprise-grade, industry-specific AI platform for Infor CloudSuite applications. Coleman develops a conversational relationship with the user which can be rendered in Infor Ming.le, a social collaboration platform, or a synthetic conversational user interface. User efficiency is increased as studies show humans are able to speak and hear 3-4 times as many words per minute as they can type. Processing the vast data in Infor CloudSuite, Coleman automates search and gather functions, which can take up 20 percent of a user’s work week, significantly increasing productivity.
