How has the year 2017 been for Cure Medical Center (CURE) and what were the key project implementations?

To attain the Vision “Commitment to making Advanced Cure Diagnostic Centers the provider of choice for quality of healthcare services in the community”, our management has implemented several patient-centric initiatives throughout all our business units. CURE also opened in September of 2017 an extension to its Main Branch to accommodate more physicians and provide quality service to our patients. Of course, ICT played a key role in integrating the new extension with our other two branches so that patients will have a seamless experience whenever they visit our facilities.

The above was achieved by engineering a continually evolving robust and resilient state-of-the-art network. We also implemented and integrated an advanced ICT Security Infrastructure to provide a secure computing environment to all stake holders in compliance with organizational requirements and authority regulations. We also established a formal program for ICT to work closely with Clinical/non-clinical departments to provide a knowledge based system with accurate and reliable information.

Other Major challenges for 2017

A major worry was the global Ransomware attack, but from the ICT market studies and feedback, we have already implemented Anti Ransomware measures including user aware-ness campaigns and other counter measures. So, we were all set to face the Ransomware attack challenge. ISO implementation was another challenge. ICT Department played key role by working closely with other departments to achieve our ISO Certification.

How is digitization changing your organization and what is your contribution?

As ICT is the backbone of any healthcare business, our management has adopted state of art technologies wherever possible. Our digital health Information system uses the most advanced technologies which contribute to advancing electronic medical records, CURE’s IT and informatics workforce competencies. We played a key

role in brainstorming sessions, technology evaluation, vendor evaluation and project implementation to ensure that all adopted technologies are compatible with existing solutions, user-friendly, and above-all cost-effective.

Various technologies like patient monitoring tools, wearables have penetrated the healthcare sector. How far have these trends disrupted your organization?

Adoption of new monitoring tools, wearables and other electronic gadgets have actually improved the awareness of patients and thus became essential tools during the delivery of care. These tools have drastically improved the physician-patient interaction as well as allowed healthcare providers to collect essential information about their patients which helped improve the journey of patients.
