Americana Group and Visa signed a new partnership aimed at promoting card acceptance across Americana’s brands. In particular, Visa will facilitate contactless card and digital wallet payment technologies for Americana’s customers, providing them with a wider range of payment options than ever before.

Americana is one of the restaurant operators in MENA with over 1,850 restaurants under brands including KFC, Pizza Hut and Hardee’s. Thanks to the partnership, customers will now be able to pay seamlessly whether using a contactless card or NFC-enabled mobile device, when paying in a restaurant, online or on delivery, for all of Americana’s brands. Visa cardholders will enjoy access to exclusive deals and promotions across Americana’s participating brands.

With the partnership covering 10 MENA countries, including Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and UAE, it also demonstrates both companies’ strong commitment to supporting the vision of a cashless society being adopted by many of the region’s governments.

Glen Helton, CEO Restaurants, said: “From being able to enjoy a tasty KFC bucket with the family, sumptuous Hardee’s Burgers, to buying a Krispy Kreme doughnut and coffee on-the-go, at Americana, we are continually striving to enhance our customer experience and being able to provide a smooth and easy payment process is a key element of that. Contactless cards and digital wallets are becoming more widely accepted by consumers as they recognize the speed, security and convenience they offer. That’s why we are excited to be facilitating card acceptance in this way.”

Mohanish Agni, Visa’s Head of Merchant Sales and Solutions, MENA, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with Americana to promote card acceptance. Contactless cards and digital wallets offer customers a quick, safe and simple way to pay, so it’s great that Visa cardholders will now be able to benefit from using these technologies whether paying in Americana’s restaurants, online or on delivery.”
