Schneider Electric has invested in a new regional training centre that will provide both customers and partners across the Middle East and Africa with hands-on skills development and planning for their digitisation and technology needs. The site, which is based in Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus, Dtec, the largest hub of its kind in the Middle East wholly-owned by Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, DSOA, spans an area of 150 square meters, and will provide learning courses on hardware and software from the company’s Secure Power division.

The training centre at Dtec hosts Schneider Electric’s latest datacentre technologies, including Uninterruptible Power Supply and cooling solutions. Partners from across the Middle East and Africa will be able to access the facility and its trainings, both physically and virtually. Tailored training programmes will also be introduced for the company’s customers, both for existing products and for new launches.

“Last year saw an increased uptake of technologies that have helped our customers in their digitization journey. We’ve invested in this service center to help our partners and customers make the most of these new technologies,” said Ziad Youssef, Secure Power VP for the Middle East and Africa at Schneider Electric. “We’re expecting that this training center will be used extensively by our channel partners as well as our customers, and we’re looking forward to welcoming them here, either physically or virtually.”

For his part, Eng. Muammar Al Katheeri, Executive Vice President of Engineering Management and Smart City at DSOA, said: “Since its inception, Dubai Silicon Oasis has grown into a hub for technology and smart city solutions. We are committed to enhancing DSOA’s digitalization drive and supporting our business partners in their efforts, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest city in the world.”

He added: “Schneider Electric was the first French business partner we welcomed at DSO in 2008, with whom we’ve built a deeply-rooted business relationship since. In 2017, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DSOA, inaugurated Schneider Electric’s Innovation Hub on Wheels at DSO, which showcased its next-generation EcoStruxure solution. The launch of their Secure Power Training Center comes at an opportune time, given the rapid acceleration of digitalization we are witnessing across industries. We are delighted to be part of Schneider Electric’s expansion in DSO and look forward to further collaborations as they succeed in achieving many more milestones.”

The center is part of Schneider Electric’s plans to increase service support for customers in the Middle East and Africa, with service partners being onboarded via the center. The company’s Secure Power business unit is focused on emerging trends such as the Internet-of-Things, Edge Computing and energy efficient data centers.

“Secure Power has supported the data center industry for decades with a range of power and cooling products. And the division is now is driving transformation at the edge of the network with a range of new technologies. This training center is our latest commitment to the region’s digital drive, that will skill up our channel partners and customers,” concluded Youssef.
