AWS announced that it will launch datacentres in the UAE, to be available in the first half of 2022. The new AWS Middle East UAE Region will consist of three Availability Zones and become AWS’s second region in the Middle East with the existing AWS Region in Bahrain, giving customers more choice and flexibility to leverage advanced technologies from the world’s leading cloud.

Globally, AWS has 81 Availability Zones across 25 geographic regions. The addition of the AWS Middle East UAE Region will enable local customers with data residency requirements to store their data in the UAE while also providing even lower latency across the country.

Organisations using this region will also be able to access advanced technologies from the broadest and deepest suite of cloud services to drive innovation including compute, storage, networking, database, analytics, machine learning, Internet of Things IoT, mobile services and more.

Cloud is the new normal. Every organisation in the world must keep transforming their business and the end user experience to remain competitive. There are many benefits for using cloud computing for organisations.

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre MBRSC, which launched the Hope Probe, leverages AWS to power the data journey of the mission, enabling data to be processed and analysed from the probe’s instruments and accessed by the global scientific community in less than 20 minutes.

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University HBMSU successfully completed the full migration of its systems and applications from its on-premises datacentres to AWS. The move provides immediate benefits to HBMSU such as cost savings, flexibility, and security, and opens new horizons for innovation, research, and global expansion.

AWS has a vibrant and growing partner network in the Middle East and Africa, offering customers cloud expertise, and business and technical support. The AWS Partner Network APN includes tens of thousands of Independent Software Vendors and Systems Integrators around the world.

Examples of AWS Middle East Partners include Accenture, Deloitte, Bespin Global MEA, Citrus Consulting, Cloud4C, Crayon, Du, Etisalat, F5, Integra Technologies, Keplerworx, Palo Alto Networks, Rackspace, Redington, SAP, Splunk, TCS, Trend Micro, VMWare, Wipro, and Zero and One.

AWS also launched the AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange in Bahrain, UAE, and Qatar. Independent Software Vendors, data providers, and consulting partners based in Bahrain, UAE, and Qatar can now transact in AWS Marketplace and AWS Data Exchange, empowering them to access and market to AWS’s millions of customers around the world.

Being customer-focused and having a builder mentality. At AWS, we are relentlessly customer-focused. 90% of what we build is driven by what customers tell us. We also hire builders who are always looking at how they can help customers to innovate and reinvent.

Addition of the AWS Middle East UAE Region will enable local customers with data residency requirements to store data in UAE while providing lower latency.
