Port of Fujairah, the largest port on the eastern seaboard of the UAE and the world’s second largest bunkering hub has implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite for finance, human resources, and supply chain to improve insights, reduce costs, enhance employee engagement, and streamline its global procurement process.
Established in 1983, the Port of Fujairah is the only multi-purpose seaport on the eastern coastline of the United Arab Emirates. Strategically located just 70 nautical miles from the Strait of Hormuz, the Port provides a vital economic link between Europe and Asia, enabling essential access to worldwide trade. Running its business on 14-year-old on premises applications, the Port of Fujairah needed to consolidate disparate systems and connect business processes on a single platform to improve the efficiency of its operations. After careful consideration, The Port of Fujairah chose to standardise on Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications.
Under this initiative, Port of Fujairah has implemented Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) and Oracle Fusion Cloud Supply Chain & Manufacturing (SCM). With Oracle Fusion Applications, the Port will be able to take advantage of the cloud to break down organizational silos, standardise processes, and manage financial, HR and supply chain data on a single integrated cloud platform. With quarterly update cycles, Oracle Fusion Applications will also give the Port of Fujairah access to continuous innovation, as new features are added every quarter, without downtime or business disruption. This cloud applications implementation with Port of Fujairah has been delivered by Oracle Consulting Services.
“The Port of Fujairah is a key global trade enabler and our strategic location and infrastructure help us provide an essential trade corridor between East and the West and support several economies”, said Khalil Ebraheim, Deputy Managing Director, Port of Fujairah. “With access to advanced capabilities such as AI, machine learning and a stream of continuous innovation every quarter via Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, we’ll be able to better predict and detect changes in demand to meet the needs of future global trade and achieve our ambitious business objectives” he added.
“As the global trade industry continues to shift at a record pace, seaports need to tap emerging technologies to enhance their operations. Oracle’s proven technology and expertise in applications make us the ideal partner to help the Port of Fujairah quickly respond to shifting market conditions and achieve faster business value,” said Rahul Misra, vice president – Business Applications, Gulf and South Africa, Oracle. “With Oracle Fusion Applications, the Port of Fujairah will be able to optimize its core business operations, better serve its global customers, and drive sustainable growth.”
