Bhaskar Gorti to lead Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Platforms

Focus on the adoption and acceleration of cloud and software-based networking technologies

Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Oracle executive Bhaskar Gorti to lead its IP Platforms business, taking charge of the development of cloud and software applications for the global adoption by telecommunications operators, large enterprises and other institutions.

With Alcatel-Lucent continuing its transformation under The Shift Plan to become a specialist focused on IP, cloud and ultra-broadband access, Mr. Gorti will oversee business units developing technologies for cloud-based networking and virtualization, including NFV (network functions virtualization), as well as OSS, the Charging/Policy/Payments activity, Customer Experience Management, Network Performance, and the Cyber-Security monitoring and prevention software platforms.

Mr. Gorti, who will hold the title of President IP Platforms, will report directly to CEO Michel Combes and will join the Alcatel-Lucent Executive Committee.
