Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Luis Martinez-Amago as CEO of Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell (ASB), its flagship company in China, effective January 1, 2015.
Based in Shanghai, Mr. Martinez-Amago will be responsible for ASB’s business in and outside of China, as well as its key contribution to the Alcatel-Lucent group’s R&D and global operation supply chain.
Mr. Martinez-Amago has extensive experience of the telecommunication industry, running several Alcatel-Lucent businesses, including its fixed access, applications and wireless transmission divisions. “China plays a crucial role in Alcatel-Lucent’s overall transformation and global business development,”said Michel Combes, CEO of Alcatel-Lucent, “Luis – with his track record and extensive experience in general management, commercial and product activities – will enable ASB to build its strategic position in the market and in Alcatel-Lucent’s global roadmap, as the group pursues the second chapter of The Shift Plan, focused on innovation, transformation and growth.”
Commenting on Mr. Martinez-Amago’s appointment, Yuan Xin, chairman of Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell said: “Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell has been a key pillar of Alcatel-Lucent for the last 30 years and will continue to be so with Luis at its helm. He will apply his outstanding capabilities in the continuation of ASB’s journey inside and outside of China”.
