Do you call yourself a digital organization? If yes, why?
Although we are yet not 100% digitalized, we do understand the importance and business benefits of being digitalized and are on the path of adopting it. We have replaced many manual processes with system based functionalities and processes. The business users are able to connect and communicate with our suppliers, customers and inter/intra departments/companies in an integrated and electronic manner with the use of latest technologies and solutions in place.
What are your top projects for the next 6 months?
- Improving User and Customer Experience
- Modernize a 20+years old internal Legacy application with digitalized features
What are the key technologies challenges faced by your sector?
- One basic example: We ask users in meeting rooms about their requirements and document to implement rather than sitting with users to observe their daily activities and record using an effective tools and techniques, which should generate a requirement document.
- I feel that many of IT Companies (Internal departments as well as System Integrators) are still following such traditional styles while implementing any software / technologies for business usage. I feel that there should be a technology to minimize such traditional paths and provide accurate business requirements to avoid scope creep.
- Having a right and usage of right technology in such cases would be wonderful. Could not find any such in the market.
What kind of vendor/solution provider engagement do you look forward to in 2018?
We are expecting to deal with Oracle related vendors for modernizing our legacy application.
