Abu Dhabi Department of Transport is setting up an integrated vehicle management platform for government and commercial transport users. A GPS based tracker installed inside vehicles will forward information about the position and movement of the vehicle as well as the behaviour of the driver. This will allow regulations to be implemented whenever there is a violation through alerts and warnings. Emergency vehicles will have better information about any incidents. Users of school buses will have better real time information about the time and number of students scheduled to be picked up and dropped. The integrated system is using big data and analytics according to Abdulaziz Aljassasi, Intelligent Systems Operations Technician, Abu Dhabi Department of Transport.
