ADSSSA Concludes Successful Participation at UN World Data Forum

Abu Dhabi Smart Solutions & Services Authority (ADSSSA) successfully concluded its participation at UN World Data Forum 2018 held in Dubai and organized by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. ADSSSA’s participation at the event is in line with its continuing efforts to boost the UAE’s digital transformation agenda, as well as promote effective partnerships with national government entities in bringing about next-generation digital services that enrich stakeholders’ experiences.

The Federal Authority for Competitiveness and Statistics honored ADSSSA in recognition of its outstanding participation during the forum where the Authority highlighted the UAE’s leading global experience, achievements and projects in collecting statistical information and data through advanced technologies and processes.

ADSSSA discussed the Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure, the Digital Data Exchange Governance System, and the workflow of data between digital data providers and their recipients. The system provides a platform for government entities to exchange digital data in delivering fast and efficient services, ensuring an end-to-end journey experience to government stakeholders such as citizens, residents, visitors and investors in availing the services. The platform forms part of the completion of the first phase of the ‘One Government’ service model project.

Leveraging the added value of government data assets is one of the core pillars of ADSSSA’s strategy to enhance the government’s decision-making processes and further develop digital transformation in the emirate on par with highest international standards.

Khawla Al Fahim, Manager of Spatial Data Infrastructure Department, ADSSSA, said: “The UN World Data Forum 2018 is a huge opportunity to network, share ideas and experience, and know the latest GIS software and applications which will undoubtedly enhance our capabilities and ability to provide world-class services. It also provides the latest GIS capabilities which can help us further enhance and modernize the Abu Dhabi Government’s Customer Service Center and enable us to deliver efficient, fast and personalized services that will enrich customers’ experiences and bring happiness.”

ADSSSA’s stand has received many visitors which learned about its smart services and efforts to support the digital transformation process in Abu Dhabi. The team presented the ‘Rawi Abu Dhabi’ initiative to H.E. Dr. Thani Al Zuwaidi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, who also visited ADSSSA’s booth.

The ‘Rawi Abu Dhabi’ platform, which was launched during GITEX, expands the application of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Society to include academic, private and individual sectors and enhance the use of data. It offers a more advanced system and provides a framework for integrated data management that aid in planning and decision-making processes.

Other top-level UAE government officials, which include H.E. Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri, UAE Minister of State for Future Food Security; H.E. Shama Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; and Colonel Khalid Al Taie, Director of the General Encryption Keys project in the e-passports administration, also visited ADSSSA’s stand to know more about the latest systems and technologies being applied in the Abu Dhabi spatial data program.

The Abu Dhabi Spatial Data Infrastructure Program (AD-SDI) is a government program being implemented as part of the Abu Dhabi Government Services, a unified framework which facilitate the exchange of spatial data among member entities. The program seeks to achieve the highest levels of geomagnetic maturity in Abu Dhabi by providing easy access to information and geo-digital services to government departments, companies and individuals, in various sectors using the latest advanced technologies, in addition to enhancing stakeholders’ experiences through the advanced services provided by various government entities.
