Mall of Qatar will be the first in the region to commercially deploy smart retailing services
Avaya has entered into a mega deal with the Mall of Qatar to build and support the mall’s end-to-end technology. The project includes designing, building and supporting the mall’s next generation network infrastructure, high definition wireless indoor and outdoor connectivity, as well as the mall’s CCTV network, to deliver the smartest and most secure retailing and shopping experience in the region. The project will also enable Mall of Qatar to effortlessly innovate and provision new services to its tenants and visitors in the future.
Mohammed Areff, MD, Avaya GCC, Levant, Iraq and Pakistan, said: “The region’s hospitality sector is going through a phenomenal transformation, rebuilding its core technology to more advanced platform, and enabling the sector to deliver smart wired and wireless connectivity services to an always-connected customer. What Avaya has today is the foundation for ‘smart anything’. With a core network that enables the fast transformation of visitors and the overall guest experience, change comes faster and adds to the region’s ability to attract the international tourist, exhibitor and visitor.”
Avaya won the Mall of Qatar infrastructure RFP, in cooperation with Libatel, an Avaya Platinum partner in Qatar. The company said that system integrators and technology providers in Qatar also have a choice to work with different vendors in order to build diversity and outcomes-based projects into their customers’ environments.
