Launches Industry’s First High-Density 10/40 GbE Network Switch for Scale-Out Campus Aggregation

Brocade has introduced the ICX 7750 fixed-port, high density 10/40 GbE switch, that can meet the scale-out needs of the enterprise campus. The revolutionary switch with Brocade HyperEdge Architecture has features and capabilities, including resiliency, high availability and manageability, typically seen in chassis-based platforms until now. It enables scale-out of campus aggregation networks, helping organizations reduce TCO (an advantage of a fixed-form factor switch), seamlessly add network capacity and adjust to evolving workloads in an agile, effortless and cost-efficient manner.

The ICX 7750 switch can progressively add switching capability at the core/aggregation layer when needed. It features optical stacking links for distributed aggregation/core layer across the campus, delivering switching capacity where required. System reliability is assured through built-in resiliency, including a separate control and data stacking links.

Anthony Robbins, Vice President Federal at Brocade added, “This addition to the Brocade ICX switch family is just what many organizations in the private and public sectors are looking for. With this new switch Brocade is providing density to help make scale-out effortless, utilizing our robust stacking implementation. Customers want to be able to deploy network resources where they need it. With the Brocade ICX 7750, they can.”

The ICX 7750 switch has the same Federal certifications held by other Brocade ICX switches and is available in three models. It comes with a starting price tag of US$ $21,500, with general availability in early 2014. It is backed by Brocade’s Assurance Limited Lifetime Warranty and customers have the option of purchasing it via Brocade’s revolutionary network subscription model.
