With the whole world moving towards digitization along with the development of smart communities and smart cities, Batelco is pursuing a strategy on how it can turn into a complete digital enabled company.
As the market moves on to be service oriented, how do you see the evolution of the telecom service spectrum in 2017? How has the customer demands evolved?
The telecommunications market has changed dramatically over recent years with a major shift from Telcos providing traditional telecom products and services to the provision of a growing number of in-demand end to end solutions. Such change is driven by both the needs of customers and also the need for telecommunications companies to find new revenue streams in the value chain in order to drive customer loyalty in very competitive market places. Among Batelco’s service oriented initiatives is its Cloud based IPTV service, providing dynamic content blended with a world class high definition TV experience.
How has digitization impacted the telecom sector?
The market is really focussed on digitisation and this is altering the landscape for the telecom sector. Providers must ensure their networks can meet the need for fast connectivity coupled with high thresholds in order to keep up with the growing requirements of increased digitisation in everyone’s lives.
From Batelco’s viewpoint, we strive to be at the forefront when it comes to emerging technology and today we are leading the market in Bahrain with the delivery of a continuous stream of new digital solutions. The strategy that we are pursuing recently is how we can turn Batelco into a complete digital enabled company, because the whole world is moving towards digitisation along with the development of smart communities and smart cities.
