Dolphin Group has implemented the global enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, Epicor ERP. Dolphin Group has deployed Epicor ERP across the company’s seven business units and eleven facilities in the UAE.

By breaking down data siloes and facilitating visibility and transparency across departments, Epicor ERP is enabling Dolphin Group’s employees to be more efficient, and make better, faster, day-to-day business critical decisions. Particularly for the operations team, modules such as planning and scheduling, production management, service management, warehouse management, and manufacturing execution system (MES) have allowed them to deploy several industry best practices across the shop floor. This has resulted in lower material waste and improved product quality and on time delivery (OTD). These operational improvements are expected to allow the company to add new product lines, expand operations, and grow revenue streams.

Discussing the three deciding factors that led to the selection of Epicor ERP, Arshid Zab, IT manager at Dolphin Group said, “Close to 90% of our product offering is built-to-order which means that our ability to deliver the highest quality product to our customers, on time, every time, hinges on having best-in-class manufacturing processes. As such, our number one priority was to find a vendor that offered an industry-specific solution with a strong track record of success in the region. This is what really sets Epicor apart from most other vendors. Epicor ERP offers a rich feature set and robust out-of-the-box functionality, to meet the unique requirements of discrete manufacturers like us. The second reason we selected Epicor ERP was the dynamic reporting capabilities. Users across departments can easily generate real-time, customized, granular dashboards and reports that give them an accurate view of business health and aid in forecasting and decision making. The third factor was the outstanding sales support and in-house professional services we received from Epicor. Based on previous, less than ideal, experiences with partners, it was essential that the vendor we chose was easy to work with throughout the entire engagement, from pre-sales to implementation to after-sales support.”

Arshid continued, “One of the hardest parts of any change initiative, particularly one that involves technology, is getting people to buy in. However, once our employees experienced the ease of use of Epicor ERP and saw the value in terms of data accuracy, efficiency, and most importantly customer satisfaction, it was an easy sell! With Epicor ERP serving as the backbone of our business, I am confident that we will be able to stay true to our core values of adaptability, continuous improvement, entrepreneurship and teamwork, and execute on our ambitious growth strategy.”

“Spurred on by the growing proportion of millennials entering the workforce, it is only a matter of time before B2B buyers will demand the same levels of personalization and ease of use that they have come to expect from retailers, hospitality, and service providers. Dolphin Group is a great example of how regional small-to-medium size enterprises can use an ERP solution to not only modernize their operations but also to gain a competitive advantage by being able to offer their customers a ‘consumer-like’ buying experience,” concluded Andy Coussins, senior vice president and head of sales, international region at Epicor Software.
