New features released in MyID service
The MyID service for single sign-on to Dubai government services is witnessing a positive response from the business sector and the public through 10 kiosks provided by Dubai Smart Government (DSG). The MyID locations include DED branches in Dubai Mall, Al Twar Centre and Business Village; EIDA branches in Rashidiya, Karama and Barsha; Aswaaq branch in Mizhar; Dubai Municipality in Al Twar; and at Ruler’s Court.
Users can easily access the services of five government entities currently participating in the MyID service: Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Public Prosecution and Dubai Smart Government. DSG further revealed that more government entities, including Dubai Land Department, Dubai Courts, Dubai Customs, Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Dubai Police and Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, will join the MyID service.
H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, Director General, Dubai Smart Government, said, “We are receiving an overwhelming response from the public for easy and seamless registration since the launch during GITEX 2013. We are planning to provide these devices at various government departments and shopping malls including Etihad Mall in Muhaisnah and Aswaaq centres in Al Warqaa and Umm Suqueim. These entities are fully cooperating with us for Dubai’s eTransformation, reinforcing public-private partnerships in a move to promote the use of government services offered to the public. Single sign-on access adheres to robust security measures based on standard technologies which comply with standards of the Dubai Government’s Government Service Bus.”
DSG has announced the addition of new features to the MyID service, offering more convenient and timesaving facilities such as re-setting the Emirates ID pin through the service’s touch screen, avoiding the need to visit any EIDA office to complete the process.
