Duxbury Networking has promoted André Kannemeyer from Chief Technology Officer to technical CEO. This new appointment formalises a role that has expanded over two decades to include technology strategy, partner enablement, and solution development. The move reinforces the company’s focus on technical depth within the networking and cybersecurity distribution sectors.

Kannemeyer has played a central role in shaping Duxbury Networking’s technical direction, building its engineering capability and assessing new technologies for their relevance to the company’s partners and customers.

As CTO, his responsibilities increasingly extended to technology strategy, partner enablement, solution development, and identifying new opportunities for the business. His appointment as Technical CEO reflects that broader remit and Duxbury’s continued emphasis on technical expertise as a core part of its operations.

“André has helped shape the technical capability of Duxbury over more than two decades, and the scope of his contribution has grown considerably during that time,” says Graham Duxbury, CEO at Duxbury Networking. “This appointment recognises the role he already plays in the business and gives him a broader mandate as we continue to strengthen the technical expertise behind our portfolio, our partner support and the solutions we bring to market.”

Kannemeyer says the priority remains making sound technology decisions rather than pursuing innovation for its own sake.

“Technology is moving quickly, but adopting something simply because it is new has never been our approach. We need to understand where the industry is going, determine what will genuinely add value and make sure we have the technical capability to deliver it successfully,” he says.

That judgement is becoming increasingly important as networking, cybersecurity, automation, AI, and cloud-managed infrastructure develop alongside one another. For distributors, Kannemeyer believes this places greater emphasis on the ability to help partners make sense of complex technology and translate it into workable solutions.

“Distribution has to offer more than product availability. Partners need access to people who understand the technology, can help them design the right solution, and have the skills to support it once it is deployed. That technical depth has always been important to Duxbury, and it is something we want to keep strengthening,” he says.

As Technical CEO, Kannemeyer will continue to lead Duxbury Networking’s technology strategy while taking on broader responsibility for the company’s technical direction. His focus will include developing Duxbury’s technical teams and services, supporting partners as technology requirements become more complex and identifying technologies that can strengthen its networking and cybersecurity portfolio.

“I have been fortunate to grow with Duxbury and to work with people who genuinely enjoy technology and solving difficult problems. What we have built technically has always been a team effort. My focus now is on developing that capability further and making sure Duxbury remains ready for what our partners and customers will need next,” Kannemeyer says.

The appointment reinforces Duxbury Networking’s approach of combining commercial capability with the technical expertise required to evaluate, implement, and support enterprise networking and cybersecurity solutions.
