As Digitization rises up as the new mandate for modern enterprises, what important role do you see Accellion playing in further propelling the drive?
The digital transformation and the continued growth of IoT translates to exponential growth in data – much of it sensitive: intellectual property, personally identifiable information (PII), and/or protected health information (PHI). It is becoming increasingly imperative for businesses to know where this sensitive data resides in their enterprise (on-premises, in the cloud, home drives, CIFS shares, etc.), but also who has access to it and what’s being done with it. This knowledge is critical for mitigating the risk of a cyber-attack as well as demonstrating compliance with a number of regulations, including GDPR.
As data becomes the new currency, how do you see content collaboration coming up as the need of the hour? What results or benefits can organizations derive from a cutting-edge content collaboration solution?
As more data is generated, it will need to be shared with more people so that it can be properly analyzed and monetized. This inevitably involves sharing data with people outside the enterprise firewall. This can include remote employees and temporary workers but also legal counsel, investment bankers, auditors, and a variety of other consultants. The ability to access, share and collaborate on sensitive data securely and efficiently, from any location or any device, will not only avoid data loss but also demonstrate compliance and, of course, provide organizations with a true competitive edge.
Coming to your Private cloud content collaboration solutions; How has the adoption been in the public sectors? What kind of growth have you seen?
The content security and governance requirements of public sector organizations like government agencies are some of the strictest among all industries. Ultimately, there are a number of organizations (both public and private sector) that will never consider storing sensitive information in the public cloud – it’s a risk they just aren’t willing to take. At the same time, more organizations are adopting a hybrid cloud structure so that organizations can have full control and visibility of sensitive content (via private cloud) while benefitting from the cost and operational efficiencies gained from storing non-sensitive content on the public cloud.
Are you able to share any recent success stories?
We have many success stories in ME across almost all the verticals. However, recently we on boarded three big banks in the region which showcases technology wide demand in banking industry. We recently announced our work with New York City Health + Hospitals, the US’ largest health system. Our solution has greatly enhanced the way employees collaborate with external parties, such as specialists, community-based physicians, other health providers, insurance companies, and government agencies at the state and local level. In addition, by leveraging our Microsoft Outlook plug-in, employees are able to access and share information more easily than ever before, significantly improving their productivity.
