Comes with essential scanning software applications, including “ScanSnap Manager”
The Fujitsu ScanSnap SV600 document scanner is now available for use with devices running the Mac OS X operating system. The first Fujitsu overhead scanner is perfectly suited for digitising and can scan a wide range of documents including fragile or irregular documents directly from the desktop using the contact-less scanning concept. The SV600 is also able to compensate for paper distortions common with books and bulky documents. In addition, the ScanSnap SV600 can now be shared by users of both Windows and Mac systems.
“Following the tremendous success of the new ScanSnap SV600 in Japan, we can say that this latest member of the ScanSnap product family has been very well received here also and there is strong demand from our EMEA markets”, said Mike Nelson, General Manager Sales and Marketing for PFU Imaging Solutions Europe Ltd. “Bringing Mac support builds on this success and broadens its appeal in this region.”
The free Mac software for the ScanSnap SV600 consists of four components, including the “ScanSnap Manager” driver software:
ScanSnap Manager – Enables scanning with SV600 from Mac OS: It includes the “Book Image Correction” function that corrects distortions caused by the curve of an opened book. Together with the embedded “Page Turning Detection” function, it also speeds the digitising of a range of previously difficult to scan documents.
ScanSnap Organizer – Manages scanned data for Mac OS: Enables additional management of all scans, allowing the user to confirm and, if necessary, adjust corrected scanned book images.
CardMinder – Organises scanned business cards for Mac OS: Enables scanning, data capture and management of business cards. “Multiple Document Detection”, an original SV600 function, allows users to automatically scan and crop multiple business cards in a single scan, improving data capture efficiency.
Abbyy FineReader for ScanSnap – Transforms image data into Word and other text formats for Mac OS: Provides the OCR technology to allow users to transform image data into editable Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files for further application in the office.
