UAE lifts the Champions Trophy; EC MEA unveils 2 new additions to portfolio; Guests gather for an amazing grand finale and Christmas bash
After an amazing journey of 3 months, the GEC Open 2015 finally drew curtains to its 2015 edition with some amazing moments, hits, and players who would definitely go into the pages of memories and history of GEC Open. Following the saying that life goes in a circle, the Al Badia Golf Course in Dubai, once again, played the host for the finale. The smiles, cheers and accolades just refused to cease as Nikolai Ushakov from UAE lifted the winning trophy.
Still fresh from the hits and wins of the UAE qualifier edition, which was held on the 15th of October, 2015, the green turf of the Al Badia stood witness to history being written as over 50 finalists battled it out for the coveted title. Finalists from UAE, Turkey, Bahrain, Oman, KSA and India took their clubs to the course and gave it their best shot.
With an amazing 39 points, Nikolai retained the winning trophy in UAE, already paving way for a heated competition in the next edition.
The grand finale bash was held at the scenic lawn of the AL Badia Golf course. The amazing landscape of waterfalls coupled with some amazing music just added magic to the festivities. Blended with the theme of Christmas, the guest were all happy and cheering in their red and white attires. The evening began with the guests humming to the tune of Jingle bells and the smiles just did not seem to cease till they left with a bunch of memories till the next year rings in with a fresh edition.
The GEC Awards for IT Excellence Qatar rewarded 4 pathbreaking CIOs from Qatar and honoured the valuable role played by them in enriching the preparations of Qatar for the 2030 and other milestones.
Enterprise Channels MEA also had some big announcements made at the finale bash. 2 new additions to the portfolio were revealed. Cyber Sentinels, the quarterly security focused supplement was unveiled by Sanjay Mohapatra, Editor, Enterprise Channels MEA and Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO of Spectrum Group. The Titans, a quarterly supplement that would cover the changemakers and trendsetters— The CIOs was unveiled by Rolf Jorgan Strand, Head of IT Section for Qatar Vinyl Company and Sanjay Mohapatra.
The premium charity golf tournament raised some good amount of charity for its charity partners. The GEC Open Committee handed over the contributions for charity to Dubai Autism Center and KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences) thus realizing the vision of the entire journey.
