Hatem Hariri, Managing Director of Avaya Africa has won the award as the Catalyst 2015 – Sales-Emerging Markets. In his role, Hatem is in charge of the expanding the company’s business and business partners community, along with forging strategic relationships with the continent’s public and NGO sectors. Hatem is a hands on leader with motivational and “lead by example” management style. His outstanding track record is backed by his solid and professional background and experience in leading virtual, cross functional and multicultural teams.
A perfect gentleman, Hatem is very down to earth and has a class that deserves admiration from one and all. In 2014, Hatem made a breakthrough in the continent whereby he achieved around a double digit growth, forged key partnerships, expanded Avaya’s in-country presence in Africa and cemented Avaya’s position in strategic markets. With over 18 years engineering and management experience for major telecommunication companies in North and south America, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia, Hatem has a proven track record in leading virtual, multicultural, cross-functional teams, and in overachieving targets. He has a degree in electrical and telecommunications engineering as well as a project management degree from Ecole polytechnique, Montreal University of Canada. He is a Canadian citizen of Lebanese origin; fluent in English, Arabic and French and a member of several engineering and social bodies worldwide.
