New report recognizes CommVault as “a pioneer in the archiving space”

Info-Tech Research Group has recognized CommVault as a “Champion” in Content and Email Archiving in its latest Vendor Landscape Report. This industry report recognizes outstanding vendors in the technology marketplace based on an assessment of the strength of their offerings and their ability to deliver excellent value to customers.

According to Info-Tech, CommVault is providing the right product for organizations that have both storage needs and compliance concerns. “High growth rate industries need tools that separate and dispose of low value content and CommVault Simpana software provides this by allowing clients to appropriately store information based on its use and value to the organization,” said Chris Wynder, consulting analyst, Info-Tech Research Group. “CommVault is a pioneer in the archiving space and its wide variety of classification tools provides IT with next generation storage management capabilities.”

“Business needs are changing and organizations are looking for ways to move beyond simple data retention and turn information into a competitive advantage,” said David West, senior vice president of marketing and business development, CommVault. “Our ‘Champion’ designation further demonstrates how Simpana software can help customers intelligently retain information based on its strategic value to the enterprise.”

The Info-Tech Research Group expanded its report this year from “Email Archiving Vendor Landscape” to “Content and Email Archive Vendor Landscape,” including an additional requirement for content support. The report has evolved to meet the broader needs of the market, positioning CommVault’s Simpana software platform as “one of the most balanced products… for both eDiscovery and storage management.” The report also recognizes Simpana software for its value, classifying it as “the most complete product at its price point.”
