Key global and regional industry leaders came together to share insights and best practise to drive innovation in the UAE.
Her Excellency Reem Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation; Director General, Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau stated: “His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai launched our new National Innovation Strategy in September 2014. The overall aim was simply stated, to make the UAE into one of the world’s most notable innovation leaders by the time of our golden jubilee.”
The event was opened by H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “As a representative of the private sector, Dubai Chamber has launched several initiatives to put businesses on the right track to developing their own innovation strategies including the Innovation Index to stimulate innovation and global practices within the local business community as well as the Dubai Chamber Innovation Lab and the DubaiStartupHub, both of which have been essential to supporting and growing the local entrepreneurial and SME ecosystem.”
Guy Kawasaki, Apple Fellow and Silicon-Valley based Author Innovation Evangelist and Entrepreneur talked about embracing the art of innovation: “Great innovation occurs because people ought to make meaning to change the world and if you look at the great companies out of silicon Valley or any part of the world the great companies inevitably make people happier, more creative or more productive.”
