Kyndryl has appointed Maged Wassim as Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa. Wassim will lead the company’s regional business, focusing on helping organisations modernise technology environments and transition into AI-native enterprises.

The appointment comes as organizations across MEA move beyond digital transformation and embark on their journey toward becoming AI-native enterprises, leveraging cloud, data and agentic AI to enhance competitiveness, strengthen resilience and unlock new opportunities.

Maged will lead Kyndryl’s business across the MEA region, deepening strategic customer and partner relationships and helping organizations shape long-term transformation strategies. Together with Kyndryl’s local teams, he will continue to support customers in modernizing mission-critical technology environments and building the skills, operating models and organizational readiness needed to scale AI securely and responsibly and deliver measurable business outcomes.

“Organizations across the region are moving decisively from AI adoption to enterprise-wide transformation,” said Maged Wassim. “The opportunity now is to make AI a core driver of business performance by modernizing mission-critical environments, unlocking the value of enterprise data and building the capabilities to scale AI securely and responsibly. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Technology for one of the region’s leading retailers, leading its technology strategy and large-scale transformation initiatives. Having been accountable for both technology operations and business outcomes, he brings a valuable customer perspective and first-hand understanding of the opportunities and challenges organizations face as they modernize and adopt emerging technologies.

Maged spent two decades at IBM, where he held several leadership positions, including Vice President, IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software, helping organizations accelerate cloud adoption, harness data and AI, and drive technology-led innovation.

Maged holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Capital University (formerly Helwan University), Cairo, Egypt, and a Master of Science in Advanced Manufacturing Systems from Brunel University London in the UK.
