Lenovo’s 9 Carat Solid Gold Laptop Up for Auction

Bid to support Dubai Care’s Educational Program

In a bid to support Dubai Cares’ initiatives to provide children in developing countries with access to quality primary education, Lenovo has launched the #Gold4Good online auction for the world’s first ever 9 carat real solid gold laptop starting at the GITEX Shopper Spring 2015.

All proceeds will go to Dubai Cares, the philanthropic organization, launched in 2007 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

Mohammed Hilili, General Manager at Lenovo Gulf & KSA added, “Lenovo has always been dedicated to improving education in developing nations and we are proud to be working with Dubai Cares,. We encourage bidders to ‘dig deep’ and help us make this auction a highly worthwhile cause.”

Commenting on the initiative Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares stated; “To combat this chronic global issue, we need constant support from corporations and individuals, and we are thrilled to be working with Lenovo on this unique auction which will help us in our fundraising drive.”

The online auction (www.lenovoauction.com) will commence on April 1st 2015 for two weeks with the opening bid starting at AED 50,000 (USD 13,600).
