Lockheed Martin is set to demonstrate its diverse portfolio of defense and security solutions at the 2nd Bahrain International Defence Exhibition & Conference (BIDEC). Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and fully supported by the Bahrain Defence Force, BIDEC will run from 28-30 October 2019 at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre presenting exhibitors the opportunity to showcase the latest technology, equipment and hardware across land, sea and air.
Lockheed Martin began its partnership with Bahrain more than 40 years ago, with the delivery of the L-1011 TriStar commercial airliner. Since then, Lockheed Martin has deepened and evolved this partnership to include robust security and technology solutions to strengthen the Kingdom’s sovereignty. The company continues to grow its on-ground presence in the region in line with local partner requirements, led by regional Chief Executive Robert. S. Harward.
“Our meaningful relationship with Bahrain is anchored in developing partnerships with the Royal leadership and the armed forces,” said Harward. “BIDEC provides us with an opportunity to engage with our local partners and to showcase the progress we have made in advanced technologies throughout 2019.”
Bahrain was the first Gulf country in the region to acquire the F-16 aircraft. The current F-16 Block 70 procurement will enable the Kingdom to achieve another regional first— with the addition of the F-16 Block 70, the most advanced and affordable 4th Generation fighter in the world. Most recently, Bahrain became the 18th nation to select the C-130J Super Hercules to support its tactical airlift needs with the acquisition of two C-130Js.
