Middle East banking and finance organizations will drive competitiveness by swapping physical IT for Big Data customer analytics, experts revealed at the recent IDC UAE Banking and Finance Congress 2016.

“With expanding capacity and real-time analytics, data generated will only accelerate and not slow down. You need to do something with the data, otherwise costs go out of control and there is no business benefit. This comes down to data availability. In ten years, no customer will own their own IT assets,” said Bob Plumridge, CTO – EMEA at Hitachi Data Systems on stage during his keynote.

Global financial services IT spend is set to reach USD 480 billion this year, according to IDC.
