Helps Enterprises Gain Confidence and Proven Expertise in OpenShift Deployments

Red Hat has announced the introduction of the Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) in support of OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat, the company’s award-winning private PaaS.
Through the Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Platform-as-a-Service, Red Hat is providing enterprises with confidence that their teams possess the skills necessary to get the most out of their OpenShift Enterprise environments. The new certification helps tests candidates’ knowledge, skills and ability to create, configure, and manage a cloud application platform.
The certification is earned by passing a rigorous practical exam during which candidates must perform real-world tasks typically required in production environments. In preparation for the exam, Red Hat offers Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise Administration, a course aimed at helping customers build their teams’ readiness to adopt and use this new technology.

Since its introduction in November 2012, OpenShift Enterprise has provided developers a cloud application platform with a choice of programming languages, frameworks and application lifecycle tools to enhance an enterprise’s ability to build the applications it needs and have them run in a cloud architecture.

Ashesh Badani, vice president and general manager, Cloud and OpenShift, Red Hat, “Red Hat is committed to providing services to help enterprises deliver applications faster through improving productivity and increasing operational efficiency, and Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Platform-as-a-Service is another example of that. It builds on Red Hat’s leading certification program, which focuses on hands-on testing of real-world skills to provide enterprises with professionals who have proven experience. ”

Randy Russell, director, Certification, Red Hat, “OpenShift is an important building block within the open hybrid cloud. This newest credential joins others in our portfolio that will enable enterprises to move to the cloud with confidence in the knowledge that their teams are thoroughly qualified in these new, transformative technologies.”
