Riverbed Stingray Recognized for its Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision in Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers
Riverbed Technology announced that the Riverbed Stingray product family has been positioned by Gartner as the only vendor in the Visionaries quadrant of the 2013 “Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Controllers (ADC)” report.
Businesses and service providers face growing challenges in delivering reliable application performance for websites, portals and cloud applications across today’s complex and global IT environments. The Application Delivery Controller is “a key component within enterprise data center architectures,” states the report, because it “effectively bridges the gap between the application and traditional packet-based network technologies.” By bridging this gap, ADCs “provide asymmetric functions that optimize enterprise applications as they are delivered to users across various internal and external networks and access methods.”
Riverbed’s Stingray family of products is designed to provide visibility and control of traffic to and from applications. With a comprehensive set of application delivery technologies, Stingray allows customers to create, manage and deliver Layer 7 services faster, cheaper, with greater control and the best possible user experience.
“Riverbed is proud to be recognized again as a visionary in the ADC market,” said Jeff Pancottine, senior vice president and general manager of the Stingray application delivery business unit at Riverbed. “Since we launched the Stingray product suite, we’ve focused on technology and business transformation for customers that harness the power of virtualized datacenters and the cloud. Our innovative hyper-elastic application delivery platform is an important step to give IT localized control on a global scale.”
