Smart Dubai Signed 20 Agreements to Drive the Emirate’s Smart Transformation

Smart Dubai has concluded another successful participation in GITEX Technology Week, where it showcased its main strategies, services, and initiatives that seek to cement Dubai’s global lead in the smart city sector.

Smart Dubai collaborated with 59 Government entities and private companies in Dubai, who joined the exhibition under its umbrella and showcased smart government services that spread happiness among Dubai’s citizens, residents and visitors. The Smart Dubai Pavilion at GITEX Technology Week 2018 garnered local and international attention, with its displays exhibiting Dubai’s sweeping progress in terms of smart transformation.

The Exhibit reflected the partnership between the Government and private sectors in the emirate, and their collaboration to provide best-in-class services to the community and spread happiness among them. With this objective in mind, Smart Dubai signed 20 partnership and collaboration agreements with various Government and private entities during the exhibition.

Notably, Smart Dubai signed MoUs with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) to collaborate on the Dubai Careers platform and to launch the Dubai Government Talent Management System. Agreements were also signed with Dubai Police and the Department of Finance to integrate efforts to combat cybercrimes and online fraud.

Smart Dubai also signed an agreement with the Supreme Legislation Committee to develop legislative activities to meet the requirements of Dubai’s smart transformation. Another MoU signed with the Centre for Technology and Global Affairs at the University of Oxford seeks to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and big data, among others.

“At GITEX Technology Week 2018, we shed extensive light on Dubai’s pioneering smart experience, and underlined the achievements that have been attained so far, which bring us closer to establishing Dubai as the happiest and smartest city in the world,” H.E. Dr Aisha said. “We have signed a significant number of agreements and partnerships that will play an effective role in setting clear visions for the future and maintain the happiness and wellbeing of all members of our community.”

Smart Dubai showcased the fundamentals of building smart cities, the advanced technologies it has developed to drive the emirate’s smart transformation journey, and the smart applications that were designed specifically to meet people’s needs. The Pavilion also shed light on the advanced Government Resources Planning Systems (GRPS), which is an integrated system of centralised technical solutions offered by Smart Dubai and implemented by more than 70 government agencies in the emirate.

Furthermore, the innovative immersive room experience titled “Experience New Realities”, also launched during the event, offered an engaging cinematic experience that draws visitors with realistic visual storytelling, transporting them through the experience of the modern citizen in the evolving landscape of Dubai.

Smart Dubai concluded its participation at GITEX Technology Week 2018 by honouring all Government and private entities that took part in its pavilion, celebrating the great success achieved at this annual international affair.
