With micro-modular data centres being the buzzword now, how is Rittal playing a game changing role in it?
RAJESH: Digitalization has been enabling people and businesses to engage with technology to get things done. This means a radical shake up and transformation in interactions, communications, business functions and business models, as a result of digitalization. The after effect of this is an explosion in real time data volume where it is vital to have low latency and immediate data processing. Its essential to bring data processing closer to the data source to avoid any delays as proximity is key to low latency. This creates a demand for a more flexible and modular IT solution. Rittal, with its wide range of rack based cooling system, offers flexibility in having an all-encompassing Rack or the Micro Data Center with power, cooling, monitoring, remote management and even physical security embedded into it. With the choice of redundant & modular systems, such solutions are scalable to fit in a room environment or to be offered as Rittal Data Center Container (RDCC).
Please share your roadmap for the year 2018
RAJESH: In 2018, 40% of the data generated by Industry 4.0 (Internet of Things) will be processed in edge data centres (according to the IDC). Bell Laboratories Future X Networks estimate that around 60% of cloud servers will be located in edge data centres by 2025. In 2018, acknowledging the market needs for Edge Computing, Rittal endeavors to focus in offering “Smart solutions for Smart businesses” in its different manifestations, ensuring high data availability coupled with swift response times and short latency times as close to the source of data as possible.
Enhancing the Customer Journey with ‘Smart Solutions’ offering on a 500 m2 booth from Rittal was a key focus at CeBIT fair in Germany (11 to 15 June 2018). Rittal showcased its credentials as a system and solution provider for IT infrastructure. A cluster of “smart” topics were presented to the visitors to explore.
Datacenters are subject to continuous change as the technology (e.g. storage, servers) is advancing rapidly. The need to understand Lifecycle of IT gains prominence and Rittal addresses this with ease by offering deeper understanding of the Lifecycle of IT and solutions provided.
With IoT and smart factory applications gaining importance, requiring short response times and a high level of security – the need for an ‘EDGE solution’ is inevitable and Rittal is addressing such needs with its SMART solution offerings. All in all, with a great success at CeBIT 2018 – we shall continue to cascade the SMART solution offerings with our regional partners and customers. With GITEX 2018, our regional partners and customers will witness the ‘EDGE solutions’ exhibit in depth. Rittal continues to be the attractive expert and reliable partner for our regional and international customers.
This is an exciting development – and we are fully on board!
