Gartner has announced the program for Gartner Symposium/ITxpo, its annual flagship conference in Dubai, to be held from 1-3 April 2014. Gartner Symposium/ITxpo is Dubai’s largest and most important annual gathering of chief information officers (CIOs) and senior IT executives. More than 500 senior technology executives including more than 150 CIOs, approximately 30 Gartner analysts and 25 technology solution providers, will gather at the Madinat Jumeirah to discuss their key technology initiatives and plan the year ahead.

Peter Sondergaard, senior vice president and global head of Research at Gartner, will present the opening keynote where he will examine the challenges and opportunities for CIOs & IT leaders in a digital world.

Gartner analysts will present their latest research and advice. Some of the key speakers from Gartner include Tina Nunno, research vice president in Gartner’s CIO Research group, will discuss findings from her book “The Wolf in CIO’s Clothing”, David Cearley, vice president and Gartner Fellow, will be presenting on The Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2014 and the Cloud Computing Scenario: End of the Beginning Goes From Cloud to Ground and Back.

The theme of this year’s Symposium/ITxpo is leading in a digital world. The Nexus of Forces (the convergence of forces: mobile, social, cloud and information) is rapidly changing how business gets done by enabling new connections and driving greater agility.

“CIOs and senior IT executives are at the centre of this transformation and need to lead the creation of the digital enterprise,” said Mary Mesaglio, vice president at Gartner and conference chair for Gartner Symposium/ITxpo. “Previously, when people thought of digital disruptions in business, they thought of industries like media, publishing, banking and retail. Now, every sector – from agriculture to government to mining – needs to navigate the challenges in this new digital world.”
