Subex, a leading provider of IoT and OT security solutions for connected ecosystems has released a State of IoT Security report for the Middle East region. According to the report, there was a 22 percent rise in cyberattacks using complex malware between April and June 2019. In addition, over 3900 region and component specific malware was isolated during the quarter representing a 22 percent increase over the last quarter.

The overall malware load as a percentage of data traffic also went up by .0122 during this period. UAE was the most targeted country followed by Saudi Arabia and Oman. Industrial IoT systems were targeted using bot networks situated outside the region in a coordinated manner.
