GEC NEWS WIRESTME has enabled the implementation of a disk encryption solution using Veritas (Symantec) at Manafea Holding Company.
The trading operations of the company deal with both local and international financial markets. As such the data and information that Manafea deals with is highly sensitive and valuable. Concerns arose, as the company and the number of devices used by employees for access grew, of the security of company data especially in the event of theft or hardware/software failure.
“Manafea’s data and information was basically dispersed because of the mobile nature of the laptops. Therefore, the solution had to take into account the different access points. This is a complete solution designed to protect all data on the hard drive of machines running on Microsoft Windows. Administrators of the machines are capable of encrypting the laptop’s hard drive to ensure safe harbour and to prevent the exposure of sensitive data. This is especially relevant in the event a laptop is stolen” said Mr. Ayman al Bayaa, CEO, STME.
