It is an innovative wireless backup HDD

Toshiba Gulf FZE introduces the new CANVIO AeroCast, an HDD storage device with highly advanced features including wireless connectivity for the quick and convenient transfer of files. The HDD creates its own wireless LAN network, so users do not have to be connected to the Internet to access their content. It is compatible with today’s most popular platforms—Windows, Mac, Android and iOS. The CANVIO AeroCast is already available in the Middle East.

Santosh Vargehese, General Manager, Digital Products and Services, Toshiba Gulf FZE shares, “The CANVIO AeroCast is suitable for central backup point for the whole family. Because today’s average home houses more than one PC and several mobile devices, the new CANVIO AeroCast has been designed to make file sharing fast and easy for everyone in the family.”

The CANVIO AeroCast lets users share and backup media wirelessly, not just between Windows PCs and Mac but between mobile devices as well. It is compatible with the following operating systems: Android 2.3 to 4.4, iOS 6 to 7, Microsoft Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7, and OS X 10.8 and 10.7.

The portable HDD has a massive 1TB of storage that can be accessed by as many as six devices simultaneously, including smartphones, tablets and laptops, providing users a simple way to share files with family, friends and colleagues within the home or the office.

Toshiba has created a dedicated “Toshiba Wireless HDD” app for Android and iOS devices, making browsing, streaming and saving files on mobile devices considerably easier. The app comes free with every CANVIO AeroCast.
The user interface for the CANVIO AeroCast includes preview for images and keyword search, delivering an efficient navigation experience. Because it is fully compatible with Windows, its content can be accessed using Windows Explorer.
