Arcserve, the world’s most experienced data and ransomware protection provider, announced that UAE-based oil firm Bunduq Company has switched to Arcserve OneXafe as its backup and storage solution. Bunduq can now leverage OneXafe’s scale-out immutable storage architecture technology to improve scalability, simplify its backup and replication process and enable substantial cuts to its storage footprint.
“With data growing exponentially, organizations find themselves increasingly challenged by complex data management scenarios,” said Florian Malecki, Executive Vice President Marketing at Arcserve. “The plug-and-play nature of OneXafe combined with easy scalability enables companies such as Bunduq to focus on their core business objectives without worrying about the safety and reliability of their data storage platform.”

Before switching to OneXafe, Bunduq had a scale-up storage environment in place that had since proved inadequate for its needs. Limitations inherent in scale-up technology meant that the company could only store data within a fixed upper limit. At this point, they would be forced to add more storage controllers or look to system upgrades and newer models with higher capacities. With a growing volume of data, the solution was expensive and became increasingly complex to manage, with severe inefficiencies in data migration and workload resource allocation.
“OneXafe’s performance has exceeded our expectations, with a significant ROI. Its scalability and its compression and deduplication capabilities have boosted our efficiency and reduced our cost of operations. Additionally, OneXafe’s ransomware protection ensures that our business-critical data is secure while supporting our expansion plans now and in the future,” said Muayad Fahmawi, IT Supervisor, Bunduq Company Limited. Bunduq now stores over 80 TB of business-critical data on OneXafe. The solution’s superior deduplication and compression features have substantially reduced its storage footprint. For example, data received last year clocked in at around 562 TB, but the data ultimately returned to storage registered nearer to 73 TB, a data reduction ratio of just under 8:1.
