GEC NEWS WIREIraq Wallet, the first licensed mobile wallet company in Iraq, expanded its ZainCash services by introducing an online payment solution, “Pay with ZainCash”. This service will allow sellers to accept online payments through their websites and mobile applications in a simple, fast, and secure manner and, on the other hand, enables customers to buy products and services online.
With the launch of “Pay with ZainCash”, Iraqis will be able to purchase broad range of services and products that once had to be done face to face, such as purchasing airplane tickets, movie tickets, consumer goods, and many other products that are sold online across Iraq.
Yazen Al-Timimi, the Managing Director at ZainCash, commented on the launch of this service by saying “E-Commerce in the GCC is expected to reach $40 billion by 2020. Iraq, with a population that is 70% of the GCC and a large consumer base has a promising e-commerce potential as well. We took this opportunity to develop the first online payment solution in Iraq. This step will most definitely contribute to the expansion of e-commerce in Iraq as “PayPal” enhanced the US digital economy or Credit Cards effect on the world’s economy” The electronic payment allows users to deposit e-money into their mobiles, transfer money across Iraq, Cash-in/Cash-out at thousands of locations, buy digital goods and products online, plus more.
