Caspar Herzberg on the role of energy building in smart cities at WEC 2019

Schneider Electric was represented at the 24th World Energy Congress (WEC) taking place in Abu Dhabi from 9-12 September 2019. Caspar Herzberg, President – Schneider Electric Middle East and Africa, participated amongst other industry leaders to share his views on the topic – ‘The voice of cities: designing an energy smart future.’

Caspar shed light on Schneider Electric’s energy and infrastructure management solutions which help organizations attain the next level of energy efficiency, operational optimization and sustainability for a greener and smarter tomorrow. “Given the many silos that need to be overcome in order to realize the promise of digitization, there is an immediate need for integrated master planning at a city level, bringing technology providers, public sector entities and citizens together in defining long term outcomes of what people, the government and businesses want to achieve in terms of Smart Cities for the benefit of all. A collaborative approach in tackling today’s urban issues in terms of energy, mobility, sustainability, and overall wellbeing is of paramount importance to Schneider Electric, and we look forward to working together to build the cities of tomorrow.”

Caspar shared the panel with the Mayor of the City of Rotterdam, Group CEO of Singapore Power and other global leaders. H.E. Eng. Fatima AlFoora Alshamsi, Assistant Undersecretary – Ministry of Electricity UAE moderated the panel.
