Cloud and AI are transforming security systems says Andrew Elvish at Genetec

During Intersec 2026 in UAE, Andrew Elvish, Vice President of Marketing, at Genetec discussed with GEC’s Managing Editor, Arun Shankar, the key trends in physical security, storage, networking and surveillance. Elvish dwells extensively on the integration of cloud, impact of AI, and the importance of data collected by security systems.

During the discussion, Elvish described Genetec’s flagship products for physical security, storage, networking and surveillance and Genetec’s theme and the focus at this year’s Intersec. Elvish describes the primary use cases and market segments for their solutions, the target audience and the difference in the demand drivers for Genetec solutions across UAE, Saudi Arabia and the rest of GCC.

Elvish also described the innovations around AI and product features. Elvish points out that AI, cloud and the importance of data are creating opportunities to engage with more alliance partners but Genetec would like its existing channel partners to gain from these new opportunities.

Intersec 2026 hosted over 1,200 exhibitors from more than 60 countries across five core sectors: Homeland Security and Policing, Cybersecurity, Commercial and Perimeter Security, Fire and Rescue, and Health and Safety. With over 50,000 visitors across 65,000 sqm of exhibition space, it is set to be the largest edition in the event’s 27-year history.
