Huawei Hosts FusionSolar Day Iraq 2025 to Empower Iraq’s Renewable Energy Transition

Huawei Digital Power, a division of Huawei, successfully hosted its FusionSolar Day Iraq 2025, bringing together government leaders, industry experts, and partners to discuss the future of renewable energy and sustainable development in Iraq.

The event highlighted the role of Huawei Digital Power in supporting Iraq’s 2030 national targets, which aim to accelerate clean energy adoption and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Under these plans, Iraq is working to generate 12 gigawatts of power from renewable sources, primarily from solar, to make up 25% of the country’s total energy needs.

Government Commitment to Solar

The event opened with a welcome address by the General Manager of Huawei Iraq, William Yang, followed by a keynote from His Excellency, Qahtan Adnan Ibrahim, Deputy DG for the renewable department in Ministry of Electricity, who emphasized Iraq’s vision to increase renewable energy capacity and attract investments into the clean power sector.

Huawei’s Latest Solutions for Iraq

In his presentation, Mr. Chenkaibin, Solution Architect at Huawei Digital Power ME & CA, introduced Huawei’s newly launched Smart String Energy Storage System (215 kWh) and the C&I SUN2000-150KTL inverter—two flagship technologies designed to meet the needs of Iraq’s fast-growing energy sector.

The 215 kWh Smart String Energy Storage System ensures higher safety, longer lifecycle, and intelligent management. For Iraq’s commercial and industrial (C&I) sectors, it provides stable backup power, reduces reliance on diesel generators, and improves energy efficiency.

The SUN2000-150KTL-MG0 inverter enables higher yields, flexible installation, and lower operational costs. It is particularly suited for medium-scale solar plants, factories, universities, hospitals, and commercial complexes, helping them generate clean and reliable solar power while supporting the stability of Iraq’s grid.

These solutions are expected to play a pivotal role in enabling Iraq’s key industries—such as manufacturing, oil & gas, education, and healthcare—to adopt renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions, and achieve long-term cost savings.

Commenting on the one-of-a-kind event, William Wang, CEO, Huawei Iraq , said: “Huawei Digital Power is proud to support Iraq’s transition towards cleaner energy by working hand-in-hand with government, partners, and customers. Our latest solutions are designed to deliver greater efficiency, stability, and long-term value for industries and communities across the country, helping to build a more resilient and sustainable energy future.”

Strengthening Iraq’s Clean Energy Future

Huawei reaffirmed its commitment to Iraq’s clean energy transition by providing safe, efficient, and intelligent solar & ESS solutions tailored to local conditions. With Iraq’s abundant solar resources and growing energy demand, Huawei’s technologies are positioned to deliver reliable, green power for both government and private sector projects.

Partner and Customer Contributions

The event also featured contributions from Huawei’s partners and customers, who shared success stories and insights into collaborative projects, including Solis Depot, Asibex, and Al Kafeel. Their experiences demonstrated the trust and confidence in Huawei’s technology across the Iraqi market.

“We are proud to work alongside Huawei in bringing advanced solar and energy storage technologies to Iraq. With the country’s growing energy demand, reliable and intelligent solutions like the Huawei Storage 215 kWh and 150 kTL inverter will empower industries and communities to achieve greater energy independence and sustainability. Together, we aim to support Iraq’s clean energy transition and contribute to building a resilient power future” – Abdullah Hamam, Sales manager – Levant, Solis Depot.
