It’s a successful hat-rick for GEC Awards- ‘Knight of Excellence’

Global Enterprise Connect Awards was held on 11^th October 2016 at the extremely picturesque setting of Dubai Creek Club. Amidst the lush green golf course and the pleasant weather conditions, the evening also witnessed the gathering of ‘C’ level executives, top IT professionals and the crème of IT industry in attendance.

The title sponsor for GEC Awards 2016 was DELL EMC. The supporting partners for the event were OMA Emirates, DarkMatter, Bulwark Distribution, Rittal, Finesse, Dubai Creek, HID Global, Emitac Enterprise Solutions, Fortinet, Genome, Sophos, Al Hyatt, Exclusive Networks.

The categories for GEC Awards were much diverse and tougher this year, with added categories and multiple nominations, the jury which comprised of independent IT experts had a difficult time evaluating the entries and finally awarding the most deserving organizations.

The GEC Awards 2016 added a style quotient to the evening with the ‘chess’ inspired theme. The attendees were dressed in accordance to the theme. The game of chess fits in perfectly with the IT environment, surviving the old competition and innovatively tackling the new entrants. Ultimately the best one wins!

The night was filled with entertainment activities for the guests which included dance performances, lucky draws and a motivational speech by Prof Dr. Justin James Kennedy. The surprise element was completed by the award for best dressed lady and gentleman who became the GEC King and GEC Queen, the winner for the GEC King was given to Mr. Basil Ayass, Marketing Director, DELL EMC and the GEC Queen was Ms. Maya Zakhour, Channel Director, Fortinet.

As they say, ‘The key to success is hard work and perseverance’, GEC Awards 2016 has definitely set a benchmark for other industry awards with the innovative award categories and the support received from esteemed IT organizations.
