U2 Rocks Global Tour With EMC ’s Flash And Storage Technology

EMC has partnered with Grammy Award-winning U2 for their latest iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE global tour, one of the biggest musical spectacles of all time.

With their latest world tour, which just grossed a whopping USD 22 million in the space of just eleven days, the legendary Dublin quartet are pushing the live performance envelope, supported by increasingly sophisticated technology which also includesflash storage and back-up systems from EMC.

Adopting all-flash technology has enabled U2’s creative team to shift from USB-based flash and hard drives to a single, centralized storage service. They use the EMC VNXe 3200, in conjunction with their Mac OS X and Windows 7 platforms, to create, store and deliver the stunning visuals that the arena rock stalwarts are known for. This gives U2 a huge amount of flexibility, allowing the group to tailor the set list and visuals for each stop of the tour.

As shows get bigger and more sophisticated, musical acts will need to rely more on the kind of all-flash solutions that EMC brings. With their iNNOCENCE + eXPERIENCE tour, U2 have produced a tour de force and EMC is proud to provide the multi-platinum selling band with an end-to-end storage solution that allows them to bring to life and archive the stunning visuals that have made them famous the world over.
