NTT DATA, the technology services and digital business organisation has announced the launch of NTT DATA AI for Insurance. The product is an AI-native agentic solution that converts core insurance workflows into repeatable and governed services.
The SaaS solution combines workflow orchestration, configurable AI agents, insurance-specific data models, and governance that helps enterprises can easily maintain auditability along with human oversight and regulatory guardrails.
According to a press release shared by the company, the AI for Insurance helps carriers modernise underwriting, claims, customer service and other core insurance workflows.
Bruno Abril, Global Lead, Insurance Industry, NTT DATA, Inc, said in a press statement shared by company, “Insurance is built on human judgment that understands risk, prices fairly and stands behind promises when it matters most. AI strengthens the ability of insurers to meet that responsibility, and NTT DATA AI for Insurance supports human expertise with intelligent systems that work within a governed operating layer for enterprise-scale transformation.”
He explained that insurers can move from AI-enabled workflows to AI-delivered operations at enterprise scale, along with the governance demands of boards and regulators.
The insurance product is powered by NTT DATA’s AI-native product platform – AIVista. The product has a pre-built insurance foundation along with options for flexible configuration, targeted customisation, helping in rapid deployment.
Prashant Hinge, Chief Information Officer at MSIG USA, said in a press statement shared by the company – “The insurance industry is generating more data than ever before, but better outcomes depend on how effectively that information is translated into action.”
He added AI can help insurers identify high-risk claims sooner, improve consistency throughout the claims process, and equip claims professionals with the insights they need to make faster, more informed decisions.
Currently in the market, carriers are under pressure to increase underwriting capacity, along with acceleration of service workflow processing and claims. The carriers need to do this along with reducing loss rations, and also improve risk selection and meet the growing governance expectations.
Research data according to the company’s own 2026 Global AI Report, two-thirds of insurers want to use AI in front-office interactions, and 86% aim for the use of AI in back and mid-office workflows. However, NTT DATA sated most workflows across enterprises have not industrialised agentic AI across the core operations. This new SaaS product thus aims to close this gap.
The solution is designed for open integration with existing carrier systems and enterprise technology environments, enabling insurers to deploy AI capabilities without core system lock-in. Its model-routing capabilities also help carriers avoid lock-in to any single foundation model.
The product provides an agentic architecture that includes – specialised models and agents that are trained on carrier and domain specific data to improve cost-effectiveness, reliability, and accuracy. The guardrails embed governance across all AI agent decision and also support deterministic, auditable outcome that help meet all governance requirements.
The proprietary insurance data genome and AI-native knowledge base embed agents into the data, systems and processes that are already in use by carriers. It also provides context the agents need to interpret submissions, claims, policies, and regulatory requirements. The prebuilt and configurable AI agents enable 3x faster deployment into claims, underwriting, service, and other insurance workflows.
The event-driven and cognitive agent orchestration coordinates AI agents, systems, people and processes around every carrier’s operating requirements. NTT DATA currently serves 10 of the top 25 global insurers, operates across 16 delivery centers with insurance expertise, and employs over 12,000 insurance specialists.
